Hotel Ca’ D’Oro occupies a building which used to belong to the Barbaro family, prelates and diplomats in the service of the Most Serene Republic of Venice. The building was completely restored in 2000, but still offers guests the intimate and very particular atmosphere of the Venice of the past with its magnificent beams and marble features, dating back to the 13th century.
Hotel Ca’ D’Oro is situated in a quiet corner of the Cannaregio district, where the atmosphere of old Venice has been preserved, off the tourist track and full of old restaurants and taverns. Most of the sights are within easy walking distance; it is just a 5-minute walk to the Rialto Bridge and 10 minutes to Piazza San Marco.
