Overall Comment:
Hotel Serena is perfectly located, close to the Termini railway station. The rooms are pretty good and clean, though very small and in the double-rooms the beds are very narrow. The staff is not very welcoming nor friendly. We slept at the hotel at two different times during our holiday. The first time, everything was fine, but th second time, we didnt get our room that we had booked at hotel Serena, because there was something wrong with the room. The staff had booked a room instead for us at a 2-star hotel a few floors higher. For this swap from a 3-star hotel to a 2-star hotel we were given a price of only 5 euros less than the 3 star hotel (which apparently was the current price for that room), and no apologises added. We managed to get the price down by another 5 euros and finally we payed 65 euros per night for it. (we payed 75 euros per night at Serena). After this, we got the room, which was not even cleaned after the previous guest.
What did you like:
Location, decent and clean rooms, air-conditioning
What you didn't like:
Narrow beds in double-rooms, unfriendly staff, very poor breakfast (they run out of most things if you arrive a little later than the breakfast has started)

Breakfast was good, so was the room. Air conditioning was very powerful and that was a really good thing. The station area wasn't as good as it could have been. There were some weird looking people near the hotel in the evenings... Anyhow, we could come to Serena second time if we ever come to Rome again!

Overall Comment:
The size of the rooms were nice and they did appear exactly as they did online. But cleanliness was way below standards and when I asked them to clean it, they just left the cleaner in the room, as if I should clean it myself.
What did you like:
Location, staff was friendly, but unhelpful.
What you didn't like:
They didn't clean the bath tub or inside the toilet.

Overall Comment:
All staff were friendly and professional. The single room was small however I learnt this is often the case in Italy.
What did you like:
The bathroom was the best I had seen for the price. The location was great being so central and easy walking distance to all amenities.
What you didn't like:
I lost all power in my room in the morning due to a fault somewhere with the wiring when I had both the ceiling and mirror light on in the bathroom. All hotel showers I used in Italy had terrible drainage problems and this one was no different. You'd have to keep turning the water off after even just 1 minute to allow the water to drain away and avoid flooding. Note: this problem was in every hotel I stayed in of 3 & 4 star ratings, and I think it's more of a city drainage problem in rome than an actual hotel problem. The bed was small in width, short in length and way too hard. I think it was a divan and not a real bed. It was a single studio room positioned directly off the breakfast dining room. I imagine the double rooms are better.
