The pretty city of Pisa is located on the Tuscany coastline at about 100km west of Florence. Few architectural buildings are as well known as the one that has made this city famous, "The leaning tower of Pisa". However this curious building does not stand alone, but along with other architectural works of art as impressive as itself, such as the Baptistery of St. John and its Cathedral.

This monuments are all situated in the Piazza del Duomo (Unesco World Heritage Site), more known to as "Square of Miracles", which is also the main sight of Pisa. The city itself is dived in two parts by the river Arno. The different areas are known to the locals as "Tramontana" in the north and "Mezzogiorno", in the south. In Pisa as well as Florence the Arno river creates a picturesque scenery made for slow promenades.
