Siena, surely one of Italy's most enchanting city, lies in the very center of Tuscany, between the Crete Senesi and the Chianti hills. The city is a treasure it self but also a perfect base for visiting the central part of Tuscany. While next door neighbour Florence is synonym of renaissance, Siena is an impressive medieval town and contains some of Italy's greatest Gothic and Romanesque buildings. The heart of Siena is the scalloped shaped main square "Piazza del Campo", one of Europe's greatest medieval squares, this is also the piazza where the famous horse race "Il Palio" takes place.
A medieval wall encircles almost all of Siena. Although this charming town is rather small and easy to get around, there are an infinite amount of accommodations to choose from. Weather you like to wake up viewing the great cathedral of Piazza del Duomo, or prefer to get your rest in a hotel on one of the main streets "banchi di sopra" or "banchi di sotto", we will do our best in assisting you.
